Google Ads Audit · Account 359-346-7144

Real demand on Google, with no way to measure it until now.

A full review of the Spare Hand Students Google Ads account: what has run since November 2024, what the data shows, what we have already fixed, and how we would run Google next to Meta across the five markets.

01 / Summary

The account was never the problem. Measurement was.

Google has been tested across PMax, brand search and non-brand search by market and service. The searches that matter are there: people in College Station, Lubbock and Auburn looking for movers, moving help and yard work. What was missing is the signal. Until 10/30 the website did not send a single conversion to Google, so no campaign could be judged on bookings, and the smart bidding strategies most campaigns used had nothing to learn from.

That is now fixed. Website sign-ups, jobs created and purchases record in Google Ads, the customer apps report through AppsFlyer, and the account sits under our manager account. Google can now be run on cost per booking for the first time.

02 / Findings

What the audit surfaced.

Data pulled from the account through 11/2/2026, read-only.

AreaFindingSeverityImpact
TrackingThe site sent no conversions to Google before 10/30 (a tag loading issue, fixed with Martin). 4 conversions recorded in two years.High$6,868 of spend with no read on which campaigns brought bookings.
BiddingMost campaigns used Maximize conversions, which needs conversion data to decide who to bid on.HighWith zero conversions coming in, Google was bidding blind.
CoverageThe only live campaign is brand. Since August: $413, 836 clicks, almost all on searches like "spare hand students" (83% impression share).HighCaptures people already looking for the brand. No new customer demand is being reached.
DemandThe May non-brand tests picked up "college station movers", "cheap movers college station", "movers lubbock", "moving help near me", "lawn care service near me".OpportunityReady-to-hire searches exist in the markets. They were never measured.
Conversion goalsFour primary actions: Sign-up, Submit lead form (actually Create Job), Purchase, and an older Contact action.MediumGoogle treats an account sign-up the same as a paid booking.
GeoBrand targets Lubbock, Auburn and Bryan/College Station only, set to "presence or interest".MediumSan Antonio and Norman get no coverage, and ads can show to people outside the markets.
AnalyticsGoogle Ads is linked to an older GA4 property, not the new one now receiving site data.LowGA4 audiences and insights from the new property are not available in Google Ads yet.
AppNo app campaigns have run. App conversions are being imported from AppsFlyer this week.MediumMost bookings happen in the app, and Google can't optimize toward them yet.
03 / Already done

The foundation is in place.

Set up as part of the tracking onboarding, so Google can launch on clean data.

04 / How we would run Google

Bid on bookings, market by market.

Four moves, in order, built to run alongside the Meta campaigns.

01

Bid on bookings

Purchase (web and app) as the main goal, sign-up and create job as supporting signals. Link the new GA4 property.

Effort Low · Impact High
02

Search by market and service

Campaigns for the 5 markets, split by service (moving and lifting, yard work, furniture assembly), built from the searches that already showed demand. Brand stays on as a low-cost layer across all 5 markets.

Effort Medium · Impact High
03

App campaigns

Installs and in-app bookings, measured through AppsFlyer, once the new app events build some volume.
