The story

The first week in three moves.

A site move is judged first on whether it keeps the search traffic it inherited, then on what visitors do once they land.

01
10.1

Search traffic came through intact

Google search visits ran at 10.1 a day, against 10.3 on the old site. Moving a site is when search rankings are most at risk, and they held.

02
+39%

Visitors read more

Time per visit rose from 23 to 33 seconds. Search visitors now spend 1m 23s on the site, up from 53 seconds.

03
11

Quote requests are now measured

14 people started the quote form and 11 sent it. The old site did not report form submissions, so this is the first clear read on website leads.

Traffic

Where the visits came from.

Daily visits to the website, then the same visits split by source.

The drop sits in Direct and social visits, not search. Direct covers typed visits, bookmarks and traffic that analytics cannot trace to a source, so it moves for reasons beyond real demand. Visits were already lower on Oct 2 to Oct 4, before the switch. Eight days is too short to call a trend, so we will re-read this at two weeks.
Engagement

What visitors do once they land.

Average engagement time per visitor on the pages people use most, Oct 5 to Oct 12. The new project gallery and quote page hold attention longest.

Quote requests

Website leads, now on the record.

The new site reports every step of the quote form to analytics, from the first field to the thank-you page.

The previous site did not pass form submissions to analytics, so there is no fair before-and-after on lead volume here.

The CRM is the real scorecard. Analytics shows a form was sent. Whether it became a booked sales presentation lives in MarketSharp, so our next read will match these website requests to appointments.
What's next

Where we take it from here.

Each move ties back to what this first week showed.

Operating plan

The next two weeks.

  • Re-read at two weeks with a full fortnight of data, to confirm whether the lower Direct and social visits are a trend or a settling-in effect.
  • Match website requests to appointments in MarketSharp, so the site is judged on booked sales presentations, not form fills.
  • Protect search by checking that Google has indexed the new pages and that every old address redirects to its new home.
  • Build on the pages that work by pointing more visitors toward Our Work and the quote page, which hold attention longest.
The next chapter

A site built to convert.

The foundation is in place and search came through the move intact. Now we turn visitors into booked appointments and bring you a fresh read each window.
