How to read this chart. Google phone conversions were not being counted between June 28 and July 21 because of a tracking setting on our side, corrected on July 22. Conversions dated before July 22 above are therefore almost entirely form submissions, and the Google cost per conversion for this window reads higher than the real one.

The pipeline

From leads to booked appointments.

Platform leads are only the start. This is what happened next in the CRM (MarketSharp) over the same window: how many became a booked sales appointment, and how many have sold. Meta forms land fully tracked; Google runs mostly on phone calls, which are still being connected to the campaigns.

Phone demand

Google Ads drove 92 tracked phone calls this window, 50 of them 60 seconds or longer. Calls are matched to Google by click ID, so this includes calls placed from the landing pages, not just the ad call button. Answered calls only. These already feed Google Ads bidding.

† How Google's appointments and sales are counted. 10 came through the landing-page form, which is tagged automatically. The other 10 were found by matching the phone number of every caller who arrived on a Google ad click against the CRM, because those bookings get filed by hand at intake under Referral, Google or Call In, never under the Google tag. Both of the sales below sit inside another row of this table for the same reason, so do not add the column up. Treat these as a floor, not a total: a caller who leaves no matching record in the CRM cannot be counted at all.

Not all Google traffic behaves the same. Every landing-page lead carries the campaign that produced it, so the form channel can be split by campaign type. This is the same set of leads as the Google row above, broken out.

The scorecard is appointments, not cost per lead. Meta turned 241 CRM leads into 58 booked appointments (24% set) and 5 sales. Cost per Meta appointment ran about $318. Counts are activity inside the window; a lead, its appointment and its sale can fall in different months, so appointments are the cleanest read on this window. What's next

Where we take it from here.

Each move ties back to what this window proved.

Operating plan

The next window.

  • Blocked the junk at the source Games, Kids and Kids and Family app categories are excluded account wide, plus Roblox, Minecraft, and installer and job-seeker terms.
  • Feeding appointments back to Google so bidding optimizes toward booked sales presentations rather than form submissions.
  • Watching Search delivery Search has less available inventory than PMax in these markets, so we are tracking whether the new split fills.
  • Reporting on appointments cost per appointment and set rate are the scorecard, not cost per lead.
The next chapter

Now we scale it.

We push the proven audiences and creative, fix what is expensive, and bring you a fresh read each window. Tell us how the leads land in your pipeline.
